A look back: Thom Mayne presents new book at AUD

Mar 13, 2023

Models that precede their buildings—masterworks made at scale—the work of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Thom Mayne and his firm Morphosis culminates for the first time across five decades in M³: modeled works [archive] 1972-2022. Mayne founded LA-based Morphosis in 1972 as a collective practice of architecture, urbanism, and design, rooted in rigorous research and innovation. Among other pedagogy, Mayne taught at AUD from 1993 to 2019. Mayne’s distinguished honors include the Pritzker Prize (2005) and the AIA Gold Medal (2013).

Mayne returned to AUD on Thursday, March 9, 2023 to present his new book and engage in conversation with UCLA Arts Dean Brett Steele and AUD faculty Hitoshi Abe, Dana Cuff, and Neil Denari. Browse our photo recap of the event below, and check out AUD's Q&A with Mayne about the book.
