July 29, 2021, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Join us for a discussion with Lindsay Erickson and Craig Hodgetts on Thursday, July 29 at 1 PM PT.
Lindsay Erickson is a Senior Associate at Johnston Marklee and has been responsible for leading the design development of numerous projects, including the UCLA Margo Leavin Graduate Art Studios in Culver City, CA; the renovation of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; Tisch Art Shed, a 4500-square foot private art gallery in Beverly Hills, CA; Solo House in Spain; Chile House / META in Chile; and a mixed retail development in the Miami Design District in Florida. She graduated with a Masters of Architecture from UCLA in 2010, and a Bachelor of Engineering from The Cooper Union in 2007. With a background in engineering, Lindsay brings precision and economy of means to her design approach.
With a broad-ranging background in theater arts, automotive engineering and architecture, Craig Hodgetts brings a singular synergy to the design of challenging environments. He has created legacy projects for the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Art Center College and Occidental College. His extensive body of work ranges from cultural and entertainment to institutional and civic facilities, including landmarks such as the Hollywood Bowl, Egyptian Theater and the UCLA Gateway. Craig has served as a professor at the UCLA Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and previously was a Founding Dean of the School of Design at the California Institute of the Arts.
Our Summer Lecture Series invites speakers whose creative, professional, or scholarly practice serves as an inspiring model for participants of UCLA AUD's Teen ArchStudio and JumpStart Summer Programs. In these discussions, we'll learn what motivates their work, what research or design methods they use, and how their practice relates to the work of others and to your cultural perspective or values.
