Michael Kimmelman is the architecture critic at The New York Times and founder of Headway. He has written from more than 40 countries and was for some years a columnist based in Berlin covering culture and politics in Europe and the Middle East. He teaches at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, and his most recent book is Intimate City, about New York during the Covid-19 pandemic.
